Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates must hold one of the following degrees from a recognized university or equivalent:
- Four years Bachelorβs degree (B.E/B.Tech) in Electrical Engineering / Electrical and Electronics Engineering / Computer Science Engineering or Technology.
- OR M.E. / M.Tech in Electrical Engineering / Electrical and Electronics Engineering / Computer Science Engineering.
Desirable Skills
While not mandatory, expertise in one or more of the following areas will be advantageous:
- Experience in power electronic-based circuit simulation and fabrication.
- Microcontroller-based applications.
- Proficiency in MATLAB, C, C++, or Python programming.
- Running programs in Hardware-in-Loop using Real-Time Simulators.
- Development of mobile applications, software, or webpages.
Salary and Fellowship
The remuneration for the Project Associate-I position depends on the candidateβs qualifications regarding national-level examinations:
- Rs. 37,000 per month + HRA: For candidates who have qualified National Eligibility Tests (CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship) OR GATE OR a selection process through national-level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.
- Rs. 30,000 per month + HRA: For candidates who do not fall under the above criteria.
Note: HRA will be provided as per institute norms. The position is temporary and valid up to 10th June 2028, subject to satisfactory performance evaluated every six months.
Selection Process
The selection process for the NIT Durgapur Project Associate-I recruitment involves:
- Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted based on their applications and qualifications. Shortlisted candidates will be informed via email.
- Offline Test/Interview: A test or interview will be conducted offline in the Meeting room of the Electrical Engineering Department, NIT Durgapur, on 28th August 2026 at 1:00 PM.
No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

Candidates must appear in person with the completed application form and one set of photocopies of the following documents along with their originals:
- Valid photo identity proof and Date of Birth proof.
- All qualified exam results and certificates.
- Proof of experience or training.
