IBPS CRP RRB-XV Recruitment 2026

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the notification for CRP RRB-XV — the fifteenth Common Recruitment Process for Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) across India. This single recruitment cycle covers two very different tracks: Group “A” Officers (Scale I, II, and III) and Group “B” Office Assistants (Multipurpose), spanning dozens of RRBs nationwide. If you’re eyeing a career in rural/cooperative banking, this is one of the largest annual entry points into it.

One structural point worth understanding before anything else: you can apply for the Office Assistants post and one officer-cadre post in the same cycle, but you cannot apply for more than one officer scale — it’s Scale I, or Scale II, or Scale III, never a combination. Each post also needs a separate application and a separate fee payment, even if you’re applying to more than one.

How the Selection Stages Differ by Post

• Office Assistants (Multipurpose): Two-tier — Preliminary Exam, then Main Exam. Provisional allotment is based on Main Exam marks and actual vacancies reported by the RRB in the applicant’s chosen state/UT. No interview stage.
• Officer Scale I: Two-tier — Preliminary Exam, then Main Exam, followed by a Common Interview for those shortlisted from the Main Exam.
• Officer Scale II (Generalist & Specialist) and Scale III: Single-tier — one Online Examination, followed by a Common Interview for shortlisted candidates. No separate Preliminary stage for these.

Vacancies

IBPS has published indicative, post-wise and category-wise vacancies for each participating RRB in Annexure I of the official notification (a detailed state/RRB-wise table spanning several pages). The notification explicitly describes these figures as indicative and anticipated — actual numbers can change based on business needs and external factors, and EWS vacancies specifically are noted as tentative, subject to government directives and any ongoing litigation. Check Annexure I of the official PDF for the exact break-up relevant to the state or RRB you’re interested in, rather than relying on a single national total.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (As on 1 September 2026)

These limits apply to General and EWS category candidates. Relaxation on top of this: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (non-creamy layer), 10 years for PwBD candidates, plus separate provisions for Ex-Servicemen based on actual service rendered in the defence forces.

Educational Qualification (As on 21 September 2026)

Office Assistants (Multipurpose)

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or its equivalent, plus proficiency in the local language as prescribed by the participating RRB. Working knowledge of computers is desirable, not mandatory.

Officer Scale I (Assistant Manager)

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, with preference (not a requirement) given to candidates holding degrees in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, IT, Management, Law, Economics, or Accountancy. Local language proficiency is required, computer knowledge is desirable.

Officer Scale II — General Banking Officer (Manager)

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum 50% aggregate, plus 2 years of experience as an officer in a bank or financial institution. Preference is given to related-field degrees similar to those listed for Scale I.

Officer Scale II — Specialist Officer Roles

Officer Scale III (Senior Manager)

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, minimum 50% aggregate, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience as an officer in a bank or financial institution. Preference is given to candidates with a degree/diploma in fields similar to those listed for Scale I and II.

Percentage & CGPA Rules Worth Knowing

• Percentage is calculated to two decimal places; a score like 59.99% is treated as below 60%, not rounded up.
• If your university awards a CGPA/OGPA, you must convert it to a percentage using your university’s own official formula and be ready to produce documentary proof of that conversion criteria at document verification.
• Your qualifying result must have been declared on or before 21 September 2026.

Local Language Proficiency (Officer Scale I & Office Assistants)

You’re considered proficient if you studied the relevant state’s local language at Standard VIII or above in a recognized board. If you don’t meet this at the time of selection, you get 6 months from your joining date to acquire it — extendable within the probation period, but not beyond it.

Who Should Apply?

• Fresh graduates in any discipline aiming for Office Assistant or Officer Scale I, since neither requires prior banking experience.
• Working bank/financial-institution officers with 2+ years’ experience for Scale II General Banking, or 5+ years for Scale III.
• Specialists — CAs, lawyers, IT graduates, MBA-Finance/Marketing holders, and agriculture-background graduates — for the relevant Scale II specialist roles, where experience requirements are lighter (1–2 years) but the qualification is more specific.
• Candidates who already have, or are willing to build, proficiency in the local language of the state/RRB they intend to work in.

Who Is This Role Not For?

• Candidates wanting to apply for more than one officer scale in the same cycle — the notification is explicit that you can pick only one (Scale I, II, or III), not multiple.
• Scale II/III applicants without the required bank/financial-institution officer experience — these aren’t fresher-eligible tracks the way Scale I and Office Assistants are.
• Candidates outside the age band for their target post, without an applicable relaxation.

Online Examination Structure

Preliminary Exam (Office Assistants & Officer Scale I only)

Candidates must clear both sections individually by securing the minimum cut-off in each.

Main Exam (Office Assistants & Officer Scale I)

IBPS reserves the right to modify the exam structure or duration, with any changes notified on the official website. Detailed syllabus and pattern information for the Single Exam (Officer Scale II & III) is provided separately in the Information Handout available alongside the call letter.

Application Fee

Fees are payable online only, between 1 and 21 September 2026. Bank transaction charges are borne by the candidate. Fees are separate for each post applied to — applying for both Office Assistant and an officer post means paying twice.

How to Apply

1. Visit the official IBPS website at www.ibps.in and open the “CRP for RRBs” link on the homepage.
2. Choose the correct application link — one for Officers (Scale I, II, III), a separate one for Office Assistants (Multipurpose).
3. Click “New Registration” and fill in your basic details. Note down the provisional registration number and password generated — these also arrive by email and SMS.
4. Upload your photograph, signature, left thumb impression, a handwritten declaration, your 10th standard certificate, and any category/disability certificates that apply to you, following the scanning specifications in Annexure III. You’ll also capture a live photo via webcam or mobile during registration.
5. For Office Assistants and Officer Scale I, select your preferred state/UT for provisional allotment carefully — this choice is irrevocable once made.
6. Optionally use DigiLocker to pull in Aadhaar and educational documents directly.
7. Use “Save and Next” to review your entries before final submission — no corrections are possible after you click “Complete Registration.”
8. Pay the applicable fee online to complete your application.

Double-check your name and your father’s/husband’s name exactly as they appear on your certificates before submitting — any mismatch found later can lead to disqualification.
