Educational Qualification (Post-wise)

PGT (Physics / Chemistry / Maths) — Regular

Essential: Master’s degree (concerned subject) with at least 50% marks, and B.Ed. or equivalent with at least 50% marks — OR a PG in the concerned subject with minimum 55% marks/equivalent grade plus a three-year integrated B.Ed–M.Ed. Proficiency in teaching in English medium is required in both cases.
Desirable: Minimum 5 years teaching in a residential English-medium public school; proficiency in skills, games, and co-curricular activities; knowledge of computer applications.

TGT (Maths) — Regular

Essential: A 4-year integrated degree from a Regional College of Education (NCERT) in the concerned subject with 50% marks — OR a Bachelor’s degree with 50% marks with Mathematics as a subject across all years of graduation — plus a B.Ed degree, and a pass in CTET or STET (Level-2, as applicable). English-medium teaching proficiency is required.
Desirable: PG in Mathematics; teaching experience in an English-medium residential school; proficiency in games/co-curricular activities; computer knowledge.

TGT (English) — Regular

Essential: Several qualification routes are accepted, including a 4-year integrated BA-B.Ed with English Literature as the main subject (50%+ marks), or a BA with English Literature as main subject plus B.Ed (50%+ marks), or Honours graduation in English Literature plus B.Ed, or a PG in English (55%+) with integrated B.Ed–M.Ed. A pass in CTET/STET (Level-2) and English-medium teaching proficiency are also required.
Desirable: PG in English; residential-school teaching experience; games/co-curricular proficiency; computer knowledge.

TGT (Social Science) — Regular

Essential: A 4-year integrated B.A.-B.Ed from a Regional Institute of Education (NCERT), or a BA with 50%+ marks including two subjects from Geography/Political Science/Economics/Sociology/History plus B.Ed, or Honours graduation in one of these subjects plus B.Ed, or a relevant PG with 55%+ marks and integrated B.Ed–M.Ed. Counsellor — Contractual

Essential: Graduate/Postgraduate in Psychology, OR PG in Child Development, OR a Graduate/PG with a Diploma in Career Guidance and Counselling.
Desirable: Experience handling children in a residential school as a career/educational counsellor cum wellness teacher; proficiency in games and co-curricular activities; computer knowledge.

PEM / PTI cum Matron (Female only) — Contractual

Essential: Multiple qualification routes are accepted, generally requiring a Bachelor’s degree with Physical Education (as elective or main subject, with marks ranging from 40–50% depending on the specific route) or relevant sports participation credentials (National/State/Inter-University level, NCC ‘C’ certificate, etc.), combined with a B.P.Ed of at least one year’s duration from an NCTE-recognised institution.

Music Teacher / Band Master — Contractual

Essential: Higher Secondary with a degree/diploma in Music from a recognised institution, OR a Bachelor’s degree in Music with working knowledge of English and Hindi/regional language, OR specific music examinations/diplomas from recognised bodies such as Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyalaypeeth, or Pracheen Kala Kendra.

UDC — Contractual

LDC — Contractual

Essential: Matriculation pass; typing speed of at least 40 WPM in English with MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); ability to draft letters in both Hindi and English.
Desirable: Candidates with higher qualifications will be preferred.

Driver — Contractual

Essential: Matriculation pass or equivalent; a valid Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence issued by an RTO/DTO, with knowledge of traffic signs.
Desirable: Ability to identify vehicle parts, change wheels/spare tyres, install/change a vehicle battery, perform daily inspections, and carry out roadside repairs.

Electrician cum Pump Operator — Contractual

Essential: Matriculation pass or equivalent; an ITI certificate in Electrician/Wireman trade; at least 2 years of experience in electrical installation, wiring, or plumbing.

Nursing Sister — Contractual

Essential: Nursing Diploma/Degree from a recognised university, with 5 years of experience, or an Ex-serviceman from the Medical Assistant trade with at least 5 years of service after training.
Desirable: Knowledge of medical terminology, patient care, medical administration, and record-keeping; ambulance/medical equipment and dispensary management experience; good communication skills in Hindi and English.

The fee must be paid by a non-refundable crossed Demand Draft, preferably issued by SBI, drawn in favour of “Principal, Sainik School Jhunjhunu,” payable at the SBI Collectorate Branch, Jhunjhunu (Branch Code 32040). Payment through any other method — including UPI, Indian Postal Order, cheque, or cash — will result in rejection of the application. SC/ST/OBC candidates claiming reservation or fee concession must submit a valid caste certificate in the prescribed format, valid as on 12 September 2026, or their application will be treated as incomplete and rejected.

Nature of Appointment

Regular Posts

Regular posts (PGT and TGT) carry a probation period of one year, extendable by another year on unsuccessful completion. All regular appointments, excluding General Employees, carry an All India Transferability clause. Regular staff are eligible for allowances as per Sainik Schools Society rules, including rent-free accommodation, transport allowance, dearness allowance, contributory pension under the New Pension Scheme, DCRG (Death-cum-Retirement Gratuity), medical allowance, and subsidized education at the school for up to two biological children from Class VI to XII.

Contractual Posts

Contractual engagements are for a maximum of 11 months from the date of appointment, though the Principal may terminate services at any time without assigning a reason, under his own powers. Contractual engagement may be extended up to a maximum of 3 years, subject to Sainik Schools Society policy, performance review, and institutional requirement. Contractual staff have no claim or right to appointment on a regular basis.

The school has clarified that staff of Sainik School Jhunjhunu are neither employees of the Central Government nor the State Government, despite the school functioning under the Ministry of Defence-affiliated Sainik Schools Society.

Selection Process

Only candidates shortlisted on the basis of essential qualifications will be called for a Written Exam. Skill Test and Interview (where applicable) are conducted only for candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks in the Written Exam, as decided by the recruitment board on the day of the exam. No TA/DA is payable to candidates for attending. Skill tests, where applicable, may include a class demonstration or practical work relevant to the post.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to report to Sainik School Jhunjhunu on the date and time published on the school website. Candidates who qualify the written test will undergo a Class Demonstration/Skill Test and Interview as applicable. Original documents and testimonials submitted with the application will be physically verified on the day of the exam — candidates who fail to bring originals will be disqualified with no scope for representation.
