Eligibility: Who Can Actually Apply

The degree list looks long, but the underlying rule is simple: any 3-year full-time undergraduate degree from the 2027 passing batch, across commerce, arts/management, science, or hospitality/tourism streams, qualifies. Part-time and correspondence degrees do not, regardless of stream.

Conditions That Trip People Up

• One backlog is allowed at the time of the selection process, but it must be cleared within your university’s normal timeline, not through an extended semester or supplementary course. If clearing it pushes you outside your university’s standard graduation window, you become ineligible for joining even if selected.
• Academic gaps up to 24 months (total, across your education) are acceptable, but must be declared upfront in the application. Undeclared gaps discovered later can lead to disqualification, so this isn’t a box worth leaving blank hoping it won’t come up.
• NIOS-completed 10th/12th is accepted, as long as your subsequent education was full-time. This is a genuine exception worth knowing if you’ve ruled yourself out for this reason before.
• Age must fall between 18 and 28 years at the time of application.

Shift & Work Expectations

This is a 24×7 operations environment: candidates need to be genuinely comfortable with rotational shifts, including nights, since TCS BPS supports clients across time zones. Your specific shift depends on which project you’re assigned to, which is decided after joining, not before.

On where you will be posted: TCS says your joining location is discussed during the interview process and that your location preference is taken into consideration, but the final assignment is TCS’s call. Treat a preference as a preference, and factor possible relocation in before you accept.

Salary / Stipend

TCS publishes no salary, CTC, stipend or package figure anywhere on its official BPS hiring page, not in the eligibility criteria, not in the test pattern, and not across its full set of candidate FAQs. How to Prepare for the 65-Minute Test

TCS has confirmed a 65-minute, in-centre test with three sections: Verbal Ability, Numerical Ability and Logical Reasoning. TCS has not published a section-wise time or question split, so practise all three under one running clock instead of preparing each in isolation. Our suggestions:

How to Apply

Registration for this drive is closed. The steps below show how the process worked and will likely help in the next cycle.

1. Go to the TCS NextStep Portal and click “Register Now.”
2. Select category as BPS: not IT. This matters: registering under the wrong category means starting over.
3. Complete the registration form to generate your Reference ID (DT number).
4. Log back in and fill the full application form. Name and date of birth must match your Aadhaar card exactly. These fields can’t be edited later.
5. Submit the form, then click “Apply for Drive.”
6. Choose “In-centre” as your test mode and select your test centre. This cannot be changed afterward.
7. Check “Track Your Application” to confirm your status reads “Applied for Drive.”

Is This Opportunity Right for You?

This drive is worth prioritising if you’re a non-engineering graduate who’s been finding most large-company hiring closed off to your stream: that’s specifically who TCS is targeting here. It’s less suited to you if you’re not able to commit to rotational night shifts, since that’s a firm operational requirement rather than an occasional possibility.

One practical note for anyone registered and waiting: the gap between the close of registration and the test is roughly six weeks, and your batch is assigned to you rather than chosen. Batch 1 sits on 22 October and Batch 2 on 1 November, so plan your preparation against the earlier date. You will not know which one you have until the email arrives.

Three failed attempts locks your account for 4 hours. Two more failed attempts after that locks it until the next calendar day. It’s worth using a laptop/desktop with an updated browser and cleared cache to avoid this altogether.
