Celonis, the global leader in Process Mining and Process Intelligence, is hiring an Associate Value Engineer in Bengaluru through its 12-month Orbit Program. This is a full-time, permanent role, not a fixed-term contract, targeted at early-career candidates with 1–2 years of experience or strong internship backgrounds in tech and business.

What makes this role genuinely unusual is the combination it demands: Python and ML libraries on one side, executive-level business presentations on the other. You’ll be working directly with Celonis’s most strategic customers, prototyping AI solutions in live hackathons, and presenting ROI to senior leadership: all within your first year. If you have a STEM degree, some hands-on Python or AI experience, and strong communication skills, this is one of the more interesting early-career AI roles open in Bengaluru right now.

About the Orbit Program

The Orbit Program is Celonis’s structured 12-month entry into the Value Engineering track. You start in the Center of Excellence, an international team that supports Celonis’s field teams globally, before moving into direct customer engagements.

The program covers:

  • Hands-on training in Celonis Process Intelligence (PQL, SQL, Python)
  • Customer discovery and AI solutioning methodology
  • Presentation, demo, and objection handling skills
  • Domain knowledge in areas like Supply Chain, Procurement, and Order Management
  • Value selling and ROI modelling for enterprise AI deployments
  • Mentorship and coaching from senior Value Engineers

After onboarding, you’re placed in live customer engagements (hackathons, proof-of-value projects, executive presentations) with increasing ownership as you grow into the role.

What You’ll Do

  • AI Discovery & Solutioning: Understand each customer’s AI strategy, identify the best problem-solution fit, and translate their requirements into Celonis solutions
  • Hackathons & Prototyping: Build creative prototypes rapidly in live customer hackathons using Celonis, Python, and AI technologies
  • Agentic Process Transformation: Help customers shift from rule-based automation to autonomous AI agents powered by Celonis Process Intelligence
  • Proof-of-Value Projects: End-to-end execution of business-critical POV projects, from scoping to delivery and adoption
  • Executive Presentations: Quantify and articulate strategic business value to senior customer leadership
  • Best Practice Contribution: Build reusable collateral, templates, and tools for Celonis’s global Value Engineering CoE
  • Domain Specialisation: Develop deep expertise in one or more domains (e.g. Supply Chain) to scale knowledge across the organisation

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Degree in Engineering, Data Analytics/Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related STEM field. Degrees that combine technical and business skills (e.g. CS + Economics, Data Science + Management) are explicitly called out as a bonus.

Experience

Extensive internship experience or 1–2 years of full-time work experience, ideally at the intersection of technology and business. This is not a zero-experience fresher role: candidates with only academic projects and no meaningful internship exposure are unlikely to clear the screening bar.

Skills Required

Skill AreaWhat to Know
Python & ML LibrariesGood working knowledge of Python, LangChain, pandas, pydantic, sklearn, PyTorch
Generative AIUnderstanding of RAG, few-shot learning, prompt/context engineering, multi-agent orchestration, fine-tuning
Data & SQLComfort with SQL and data engineering tools; Celonis uses its own PQL (Process Query Language) which you’ll be trained on
CommunicationExcellent English communication skills — presenting to executives is a core function of this role
Problem SolvingAnalytical and creative approach to applying technology to business challenges
Business AcumenFoundational understanding of enterprise processes — Supply Chain, Procurement, ERP systems are a plus
Customer MindsetGenuinely customer-centric — focused on delivering measurable value, not just building solutions

Bonus Points

  • Hands-on experience building agentic systems: LLM orchestration, RAG pipelines, function calling, prompt engineering
  • Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or other LLM ecosystem tools
  • Customer-facing, customer success, or sales experience
  • Supply Chain process knowledge: Procurement, Order Management, Inventory, Production
  • ROI and TCO modelling experience for business case justification
  • Working knowledge of SAP and/or Oracle ERP systems

Who Should Apply?

  • STEM graduates with 1–2 years of experience (or strong internship history) who are genuinely comfortable working at the boundary of technology and business, not just one or the other
  • Candidates with hands-on Python and generative AI experience who can also hold their own in an executive conversation
  • Those who find enterprise processes (supply chain, procurement, finance) intellectually interesting, not just tolerable: domain enthusiasm matters here
  • Candidates who want early ownership, client exposure, and a fast career trajectory in enterprise AI, and are comfortable with the ambiguity and pace that comes with that

Who Is This Role Not For?

  • Candidates who want a pure engineering or research role with no client interaction: executive presentations are a core, recurring responsibility here, not an occasional event
  • Fresh graduates with no meaningful internship or project experience at the business-technology intersection: the 1–2 year experience requirement is real
  • Those who are not comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-ambiguity environment: the Orbit Program moves quickly and expects self-motivation throughout

Compensation & Benefits

Celonis has not disclosed a salary figure for this role. However, the compensation package includes:

  • RSUs (Restricted Stock Units): Every full-time Celonaut receives RSUs from Day 1, plus merit-based refresh grants
  • Unlimited PTO and a flexible hybrid work model
  • 24 weeks fully paid parental leave for primary carers; 12 weeks for supporting carers, from your first day of employment
  • Subsidized Wellhub memberships and mental health counselling
  • Wellness Weeks: dedicated company-wide work/life balance weeks
  • Annual Impact Days: paid time off to volunteer for community or environmental causes

Selection Process

Celonis has not published a specific selection flow for this listing. For a Value Engineering role that combines technical depth with client-facing skills, expect a multi-stage process:

  1. Resume screening: STEM background, Python/AI experience, and any business-facing internship experience reviewed
  2. Online assessment or case study: likely a mix of technical and business problem-solving
  3. Technical interview: Python, generative AI concepts, SQL, and possibly a solutioning exercise using Celonis’s context
  4. Business / communication round: ability to present and structure a value argument for a hypothetical customer scenario
  5. Final leadership discussion

Prepare to demonstrate both sides: your technical ability to prototype an AI solution AND your ability to explain its business value to a non-technical executive audience. That dual fluency is exactly what Celonis is screening for.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q1. Is this a permanent job or a fixed-term contract?
Permanent. Celonis explicitly states this is a full-time, unlimited position. The 12-month Orbit Program is your onboarding and ramp-up structure, not the duration of the role.

Q2. Do I need prior Celonis or Process Mining experience?
No. Celonis training is part of the Orbit Program onboarding. You’ll learn PQL (Celonis’s Process Query Language) and the platform during the program. Python, SQL, and generative AI knowledge are expected upfront; Celonis-specific skills are built during the role.

Q3. How technical is this role really: is it more engineering or consulting?
Both, genuinely. You’ll write Python code and build prototypes in customer hackathons, and you’ll also present ROI analysis to C-suite executives. Neither side is optional. Candidates who are strong on only one dimension are unlikely to thrive here.

Q4. Is this role open to fresh graduates with no work experience?
Not exactly. The JD asks for extensive internship experience or 1–2 years of full-time work experience. A strong internship background at the tech-business intersection could work, but candidates with only academic projects and no real-world exposure will likely not clear the bar.

Q5. What is the work mode: remote or in-office?
Hybrid. Celonis offers a flexible model that balances remote work with in-office collaboration at the Bengaluru office. The exact in-office cadence isn’t specified: confirm during the process.

Q6. What does “RSUs from Day 1” mean practically?
Restricted Stock Units are a form of equity compensation: you’re granted shares in Celonis that vest over time. This means you have a financial stake in the company’s growth from your first day, which is uncommon for early-career roles at this level.

Q7. What supply chain knowledge do I need?
Basic familiarity with enterprise supply chain concepts (Procurement, Order Management, Inventory, Production) is listed as a bonus, not a hard requirement. If you have it, highlight it. If you don’t, it won’t disqualify you if your Python and AI skills are strong.
