Airbus Associate Systems Engineer Recruitment 2026

Airbus is hiring for a Bangalore-based software engineering role — listed on its careers portal as “Associate Systems Engineer,” though the job description itself opens by describing the position as a “Software Developer.” Either way, the actual work is clear: this is a full-stack role spanning backend services (.NET Core, C#, NodeJS), frontend development (Angular, TypeScript), cloud infrastructure (AWS), and some exposure to Airbus’s Aras Innovator PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) platform.

This isn’t a pure-fresher listing — Airbus is looking for 0 to 3 years of professional software engineering experience, with language in the posting about “progression into mid-level execution and autonomous problem-solving.” That puts it in reach for early-career engineers with some real project or professional experience, though the technical bar (deep hands-on backend + frontend + cloud + database skills) is genuinely broad for a 0-3 year band.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Required Technical Skills

AreaSkills
Backend & IntegrationDeep hands-on experience with .NET Core, NodeJS; strong C# programming; RESTful APIs; WebSockets for event-driven connections
FrontendSolid production experience with Angular; strong TypeScript and JavaScript skills
Cloud & DevOpsExperience with AWS (EC2, Elastic Load Balancers), secure cloud networking, Infrastructure as Code, Git workflows (branching, PR reviews, CI/CD)
Data ManagementStrong SQL, schema design, query optimization; familiarity with MSSQL, Oracle, and MySQL

Good to Have

  • Knowledge of Airbus as an organization.
  • Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders across countries.
  • Adaptive communication skills with diverse audiences.
  • An entrepreneurial, innovative mindset and adaptive team-player approach.

Soft Skills

  • Good communication and an advanced level of English, with active listening.
  • Quick learning ability across new technologies, skills, and applications.
  • Knowledge of Waterfall, Agile, or SAFe project methodologies, and tools like VersionOne, JIRA, or Google Suite — listed as a must, not optional.
  • Knowledge of Sustainable IT is an added advantage.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Who Should Apply?

  • Engineers with 0–3 years of experience who already have genuine, hands-on exposure to both backend (.NET Core/C#) and frontend (Angular/TypeScript) development, not just one side of the stack.
  • Candidates comfortable with SQL-heavy work — schema design and query optimization are explicit requirements, not peripheral skills.
  • Those interested in the aerospace/PLM domain, since the role includes real exposure to Airbus’s Aras Innovator platform.
  • Candidates familiar with Agile/SAFe methodologies and standard project tools like JIRA, since this is listed as a must-have.

Who Is This Role Not For?

  • Absolute freshers with zero professional or substantial project experience — while the band starts at 0 years, the breadth of required skills (backend + frontend + cloud + database + PLM exposure) suggests candidates with at least some hands-on experience will be more competitive.
  • Candidates specialized in only backend or only frontend development, without any cross-stack exposure.
  • Those with no familiarity with Agile/SAFe methodologies or tools like JIRA, since this is explicitly called a must-have rather than a preference.

Salary

Airbus has not disclosed a salary or CTC figure in the official posting. Candidates should confirm compensation during the interview or offer stage.

Selection Process

The official posting does not describe a specific test or interview format. Given the broad technical scope — backend, frontend, cloud, database, and PLM exposure — candidates should be ready to discuss real project or professional experience across at least two or three of these areas, along with their familiarity with Agile/SAFe workflows and collaboration tools.
